Gap'ed Out

Gap had a great sale this weekend, and I scored this blouse and matching skirt for only $15 for both! I love how the blouse is sheer and how the skirt balloons out.

Alexa Chung for Madewell

Love the ankle boots she created for her Madewell collection.

I'm not wearing anything from the collection, but I am wearing this lace lingerie nightgown I bought from Ross for less than $3 as a dress. Alexa Chung wasn't as tall as I thought, but she is really beautiful...except she has the thinnest legs I've ever seen.

Free People

Dress- Free People, Wedges- Forever 21
Blazer- J.Crew, Blouse- Gap, Black tank- INC, Skirt- H&M, Boots- Naturalizer

I love Free People! Their clothes are one of a kind, comfortable, and effortlessly chic. I was lucky enough to score this black lace Free People dress at their Stanford location for cheap. I just need to make some adjustments to the fitting on the hips since its bigger than desired...which makes me look bulkier.. haha But I couldn't wait till I made it smaller and wore it the day after anyway! haha

The last two pictures are from a trip to Embarcadero con mi Mama. It was meant to be because I found the street vendor I've been going to for 9 years there! I've been buying her jewelry ever since I was a teen and she use to be at Fisherman's Wharf, but one day she just stopped selling there. I was worried something happened to her. However that day my mom and I were exiting the Ferry building and there she was! She is the sweetest woman and her jewelry is one of a kind. She made me stand-out pieces made of whale bone, Venetian glass, and beads made in the 1800s.

I’m thinking of opening an online thrift/vintage/new shop, so if anyone is looking for anything in particular and I’ll hunt around for you =) Or even better… go on the shopping excursion with me!

Transition period... Many things have changed in my life the past 3 months and it takes growth and the ability to adapt to whatever comes to stay strong. Though a job, people, and locations change... your determination, willingness to conquer the unknown, and kindness to others should never cease to exist.  Life is a gift in itself, and though times can be rough there will be moments that inspire you to push forth.

If there is one important thing I learned in the last few months it's the importance of realizing that happiness comes from the inside and not out. As cheesy as that sounds it's very true. You do not have to rely on another person, money, or physical appearance to dictate how you should feel. If you are truly happy you won't need justification from anyone or anything. So feed your soul... do what YOU want for a change and not what someone else does. If you realize you are unhappy about your life then dig deep and find the root of the cause. Take responsibility and come up with steps on how to change it, just remember it may take more than just a day to do it...but it is one day closer to true happiness. Tomorrow is a new day...YOU go and enjoy it. =)

When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless. But when you get involved, you feel the sense of hope and accomplishment that comes from knowing you are working to make things better.
